TOKYO — Japan Airlines will start direct charter flights Tuesday linking Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka with Siem Reap in northern Cambodia, for tours of the Angkor Wat temple complex designated a World Heritage site, JAL officials said Saturday.
The inaugural flight is scheduled to leave Kansai International Airport Tuesday morning for a five-day tour. JAL's direct flights to Siem Reap will follow similar services offered by Cambodia's Angkor Airways since last year, according to the officials. The Japanese company plans to fly a total of 30 such flights by the end of next March for 15 tours, possibly carrying up to 3,000 passengers to the Southeast Asian country.
